Tuition Reimbursement

All appointed employees are encouraged to participate in our Tuition Reimbursement benefits.  WCPS will reimburse up to 12 credits per year (fall semester - summer semester OR September 1 - August 31) and $20.00 towards fees.  The maximum WCPS will pay per credit for the 2024-2025 school year is $844.56.

WCPS reimburses tuition two times per year, by the end of February and by the end of October.  Submission deadlines for reimbursement are January 15 and September 15. Please review all of the tuition reimbursement policies on page two of the tuition reimbursement form.

Important Transcript Information:
We accept both paper official transcripts and electronic official transcripts.  In order for both types of transcripts to be official, they must be sent DIRECTLY from the college or university to Julie Phillips in Human Resources.

Direct Bill Program

WCPS offers Direct Bill Programs with both Salisbury University and University of Phoenix.  With this program, you do not need to pay out of pocket for your tuition, the Board will pay it for you!

Please remember that the 12 credit per year rule applies to direct billing as well as regular tuition reimbursement.  Be mindful of this policy when scheduling your courses.

All employees that participate in direct billing with Salisbury University and University of Phoenix are responsible for ordering an official transcript after each semester they complete.  The universities will NOT automatically send one to Human Resources on your behalf.

Salisbury University

Please complete the Direct Bill Authorization Form (complete a separate form for EACH semester) and send it directly to Julie Phillips in Human Resources.  Once Ms. Phillips receives your form, she will notify Salisbury University (SU).  SU will then flag your student account so they know not to bill you for tuition.

Please note: The employee is responsible for any fees and tuition over the allotted amount.

University of Phoenix

Please contact Nicole Berkebile, nicole.berkebile@apollo.edu, our Phoenix representative.  She will put you in contact with an enrollment adviser at University of Phoenix.  Your adviser will help you register for the courses you would like to take.

Your enrollment adviser will ask you for a "purchase order" or "voucher", which is our Direct Bill Authorization Form.  Please send the Authorization form to your Phoenix adviser AND to Julie Phillips in Human Resources.  Once this process is complete, you will be signed up for the Direct Bill Pay Program.

You must complete a new Authorization form and send it to your enrollment adviser AND Julie Phillips each time you enroll in a new course.

Please note: The employee is responsible for any fees and tuition over the allotted amount.
